Agassi & Superbabes

When he announced that he would retire from tennis after the 2006 US Open, bringing an end to his twenty year professional tennis career, I was quite sad. He has been one of my favourite tennis player, together with Michael Chang, Pete Sampras and now Roger Federer.

Andre Agassi on the cover of Sports Illustrated after winning Wimbledon.

He has won eight Grand Slam singles titles, and is one of only five players to have won all four Grand Slam events. Agassi is the only male player in the Open Era to have won every Grand Slam singles title, the Masters, the Davis Cup and the Olympic Gold medal. He's such an amazing player, off and on the court.

He's one of most recognised sports person in the world, and he has also been the icon of Nike for 17 years, remember those funky and colourful tennis outfit? Such a trend in those years.

Thanks for the wonderful 20 years Andre. May God bless you and Steffi and your family.

Marisa Miller. I don't mind being late for any appointment, for once.

Hot babes, Erdinger beer, World Cup quarter-final matches, F1 at Indianapolis, Superman Returns, I'm going to have a wonderful weekend! Make sure you have one as well ;)

Superbabes - Footballers' WAGS

Sylvie Meis, wife of Rafael van der Vaart (Holland)

Adriana Sklenarikova, wife of Christian Karembeu (France)

*******

On another note:

U.S. President George W. Bush jogs with Sergeant Christian Bagge, who lost both legs to a roadside bomb in Iraq. Bagge, 23, was injured while riding in a convoy near Kirkuk, Iraq when an explosion tore apart his Humvee. (What!? He's only 23?)

Imagine yourself being sent to Iraq to fight for the President, stucked there for couple of months, suffered the terrible desert heat, got yourself bombed, lost both of your legs, lost your ability to do sports and have sex like normal people, and then the President ask you to jog with him for publicity..

Gee.. that fella must be damn rich now.

Let The Knock-Out Stage Begins!

So, while we wait for the final clashes in group G and F tonight (which I don't see any real contender for WC 2006, except Spain), we can be sured that there will be some mouth-waterring battles in the next 2 weeks.

1. A possible quarter-final clash between Germany and Argentina. Surely, this has to be the most important one! Bring back the memories of Mexico '86 and Italia '90, when Maradona and Lothar Matthäus were possibly the shortest captains in both tournaments :P (not to forget the tears from Gazza, but that's another story for England la.)

2. Italy should able to overcome any of these teams (France/Swiss/Korea/Ukraine/Tunisia) without much problem, even without any ponytails, oh wait, who's that girl running around on the pitch? Oh Camaronesi.. OK, so they do have some ponytails, then for sure they'll advance to semi-final la!

3. England should beat Equador (unconvincingly I predict) and setup a clash with Holland (which may prove a bit too strong for the Portugese). Terry vs Robben, A.Cole vs Van Persie? Nice.

4. If Brasil can play like how they played in 2nd half against Japan, then surely they'd go pass an Essien-less Ghana team and wait for (it has to be!) Spain in the last quarter-final. This will be so exciting ain't it? Two teams with so much qualities and gifted individuals. There will be goals, for sure, and possibly some samba and salsa too.

By that time, every ah pek, aunty, makcik, tangachi & minachi will be sick of Paul and Shebby's face already.

Now, go drink some German beer and have a nice weekend ya? And keep your eyes off the i-Gallop advertisement!

La Vie Boheme

I don't know why I bought this initially, probably because it's not as "mainstream" as Cats, Miss Saigon and etc, or maybe it's a Pulitzer and Tony Award winning musical?

Rent, a must watch for musical lovers.

But the moment I saw the first 10 minutes, I knew I've made an excellent purchase. I'm not the fan of musical movies but somehow I like this because it makes you feel the ups and downs of these characters. And how they convey all this not only through dialogue, but through song as well.

My favourite character is Angel (Wilson Jermaine Heredia). Overall I'll give it a 7.5/10, well, not because it's not good enough, simply because I'm more into drama and comedy movies, hehe. Screw Chicago, this is much better!

Nevertheless, go get the DVD coz these guys can really sing well! I wonder why they didn't participate in American Idol? Sure win!

My favourite song of the movie: Seasons of Love (apparently the soundtrack is very much worth listening as well):

Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes.
Five hundred twenty-five thousand moments so dear.
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes.
How do you measure, measure a year?

In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights in cups of coffee.
In inches, in miles in laughter in strife.
In five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure a year in the life?
How about love? How about love? How about love? Measure in love... seasons of love.

No day but Today, yeah well said.

What boobies can do for you..

Help you score.

Screw up the 18th hole in the US Open.

Ensure you got the spotlight. By the way, that's Jennifer Aniston's pokies.

PS: The image of those OSIM sales-woman and sales-man (YES! fuckin SALES-MAN!!) demonstrating the i-Gallop @ Subang Parade will continue to haunt me for next couple of days. KNNCCB.

PPS: By the way, since when OSIM became so sexual-oriented? Just look at their slogan: "Everything that turns Ahhh! into Ooooooo...". What the fuck?

Ole Ole Ole

Sorry for the lag in blogging! Been busy with work, family and friends.

Yes, 3 more days and it's time for cup of life, again. As usual, my team will be Brazil but I don't think they will win again this time. The World Cup karma means that European team will win this year.

My bet on Italy or England. Yeah, England, you heard me.

Meanwhile, the fever of football continues.

Will they take off the shirt to celebrate a goal? Hmm..

Don't bet too much on the World Cup ya? Ciao.
